  • Lastly, you can miss call on 011-22901406 from your registered mobile number and in a minute you will get your UAN number through SMS.

On EPFO’s official website, you can recover the UAN number. Then, you need to activate your account by providing all the account details. Here’s a step-by-step guide for the same.

How To Recover UAN Number

The easiest way to recover UAN numbers is by giving a missed call to 011-22901406 or by using the “know your UAN option” on the UAN portal, contacting your HR department, or checking your payslips. If you cannot find your forgotten UAN by missed call, you can find it online on the UAN member portal.

Steps To Recover Forgot Universal Account Number (UAN) Online

  1. First of all, visit the official EPFO website and click on the Know Your UAN number.

2. Now, enter your ten digits mobile number linked with your EPFO account.

3. Now verify your mobile number with OTP and click on Submit tab.

4. After that, you need to enter your name and date of Birth. Choose anyone from Aadhaar, PAN Card, or Member ID in the next section. After entering all the required, click on Show Mu UAN.

5. That’s It! You have successfully recovered your UAN number, and a popup will come on your screen along with your UAN number. Just take a screenshot or write it down anywhere for future reference.

Other Working Ways To Recover The Forgotten UAN Number

Give a Missed Call On 01122901406

All you need to do is give a missed call on 01122901406, and you will instantly receive an SMS from EPFO along with your UAN number.

Send an SMS To 7738299899

Open the Message app on your device, type EPFOHO UAN ENG, and send it to 7738299899. Make sure you have working validity and balance in your Sim card; otherwise, the message will not go to the sender. After sending the SMS within the next 1-3 minute, you will receive a message along with your UAN number.

Find UAN with PAN Card, Aadhar Number, PF Number

  1. Visit UAN Member Portal and click on the Know your UAN tab.
  2. Now verify your number with OTP and after that, you will be asked to enter anyone details from PAN, Aadhaar, and Member ID.
  3. Simply enter the required details and you will get your UAN number.

Find UAN Through Payslip

Most payslip comes with PF Number, ESI number, and UAN Number. So you can check your payslip for the same. For example, if you got a UAN number, you can follow the above methods to know your UAN number.

How To Get UAN Number If I Don’t Have access to the registered mobile number?

All the above methods require a mobile number to get your UAN number. If you don’t have access to your registered mobile number, you can contact your employer or visit your nearby PF office in-person to know your UAN number. Make sure to take essential documents with you at that time.

How To Withdraw PF Money Without UAN?

To withdraw your PF money without a UAN, you must submit a physical application.
You must first download the Aadhaar-based new composite claim form or the non-Aadhaar composite claim form before you can submit the physical application. In addition, the composite claim form can be attested by any bank manager, a Gazetted Officer, or a Magistrate.
Once the forms are filled out, you must submit them to the EPFO office in your jurisdiction.

How To Check PF Balance With UAN Number?

If you have a UAN number, you can check the PF balance via SMS or missed call service.

Send an SMS from your registered mobile number to 7738299899 to check through SMS. SMS format is ‘EPFOHO UAN’. EPFO will reply to the SMS with the beneficiary’s PF balance.

Alternatively, dial 011-22901406 from your registered mobile number to know your PF balance.

  18. Hi, I am a homemaker. I tried all the above methods but it says there isn’t any UAN number with these details. This is in regards to the job that I did 2 years ago.
    Also regarding my job around 15 years ago, there is no UAN number on the payslip, and my mobile number and mail id have changed.
    How can I get both these PF details. Please guide.
    BTW, regarding the job 2 years ago, I had mentioned that I do not have any UAN number while joining as I did not have any previous details.

  92. From 2017 – 2018 (1 year) I worked in a financial company and had a EPF cuttings for 1 year with my registered company. After 2018 I resigned my job and didn’t worked in any other company as I was busy with my freelance works. And its been 3 years I forgot about my UAN and Now as I am following step by step process to know my UAN registered number their was an SMS receiving my mobile wasn’t registered with any UAN Number May I know what I can do further and help out from this problem.   93. My husband got VRS in 2000 at the age of 40. Now he is 61. Still date we didn’t apply for EPFS. When we start to apply they ask UAN number. In 2000 this process was not there. Now the company also closed. We can’t get signature from HR. What we want to do to get Pension from EPF?
